Home - St Levan Sports club

St Levan Sports Club has organised St Levan Sports week at the current parish playing field each year since the 1950’s when the land was cleared and drained. Sports were also organised prior to this at the PK Exiles sports field.

St Levan sports day has traditionally been held on the 2nd Tuesday of August with a fancy dress competition kicking of the afternoon before the commencement of the sports events. Entry to each race or event is free of charge to participants with a range of events for all ages and abilities with prizes for winners which are presented at the end of the events. Whilst events are open to everyone trophies are also presented for “best in parish” in different age categories.

The Club runs the week (apart from the 10k road race) free of charge and therefore has to raise funds each year through a series of events. The main fundraisers have been our Raffle and Auction at The Logan Rock Inn which entertainingly starts the weeks’ events. Currently the week involves the Auction, Sports day, a Rounders night, 10k Road Race, 5 a side football, and a Barn Dance. Earlier in 2020 the club ran a “Race Night” at The Logan Rock Inn as a Social fundraiser. Unfortunately the 2020 Sports Week did not happen. The only other time that it was not run was in 1999 (the summer of the Eclipse).

The Sports Club always welcomes new members and people who are willing to give a hand since it does take many hours to organise the week and to get the field ready.

The 2021 AGM will be held on May 20th 2021 at 7.30pm in the outside area at The LOGAN ROCK INN.

A very successful week.

The committee would like to thank everyone who has contributed in making a memorable week.  More news to follow  along with photos.

The following were the winners in our Prize Draw.
